Get a foot or two of the engine loom on the car side, i.e. where the loom goes through the bulkhead, cut it there, that way you have something to join a 205 loom to. Get the VSS interface box, it will be under the dash somewhere, to find it, take the plug that plugged into the gearbox at the back and trace the wires back, you will find the box at the end, you want the box, the plug and a few inches of wire.

if you've got the loom then you're mostly good

you don't need the other side of the loom as you will mate the 205 loom up to it, however i would cut the plug off the loom with about 8" of wires so that you can mate it to the 205 loom and make it plug and play :D

make sure you get the lambda sensor

think thats about it

oh and vss as rob said ^^^^

One more thing, does the xm have a keypad immobiliser? If so, you may already be in for a spot of bother, if not, feel free to breathe a sigh of relief!

If you want any help with the wiring PM me, I've done a few now, only one with a problem that I haven't yet got to the bottom of, ask allpraisethegti about that, I'd give my left bollock to find out what's going on with that one!!

as regards to the key pad thing on my donaer 406

all i did was put the code into the key pad and then started the car unpluged

the key pad while the car was runing (but dont plug it back in ) then the ecu is unlockd and u can turn the car off.

u can start the car with out the key pad as meny times as u want

You don't want too much restriction on a turbo exhaust, not good for power. As for putting the turbo lump in an xs, they have a carb haven't they? So you will need a gti fuel tank and lines, and wiring to the pump, not a massive problem, just an earth and a live from the fuel relay.

yeah ill prob get a cheap 1.9 spares or repair. to get all the bits again before doin the converstion i got a nice xs there too thats not in no rush its got 10 months mot. as for exzaust it might be in favour for a custom one to get the flow but i try keep costs down and if its there use it sort of thing buy and whats needed as i dont have much spare after all outgoins but cant stop fiddling lol and i picked up a nice xm it was pulling in the xm i cant wait till it in a 205!! with a few upgrades whats best worst mods ect..

That looks like it could be the vss control box, but worth checking around for more similar looking boxes, the plug on it doesn't look quite how I remember, but it was a while ago! Not a problem where you've cut the wires by the looks of things.

Edit:

Them 3 boxes, the top one looks like the vss, middle one is central locking control, dunno what the last one is!
