Sunroof Or No Sunroof

On the subject of bodyshells (I'm relatively new to 205's) What is the big issue with the sunroof ?

Is it because if weight or body stiffness ?

The last 205 I had did sport a sunroof and the body did start to crack around the floor area just below the back of the seats but having said that the car did get a lot of greif and was driven very hard by three of us.

The reason I ask the question is that I am about to build a track/road car and have the option of two bodyshells, one with a sunroof and one without. I value any experience you may have had on the subject.

I can't see there being a stiffness issue if a rollcage is added and if there is a weight issue then a piece of perspex may alter the balance - or maybe not

It's more an if you roll the car glass being shattered all over you issue.

Some argue the shell is weaker with a sunroof too.

If you have the choice I'd say no roof every time.
