hi, i was wondering if anyone had put a different dash in thier cars... ive seen the 206 interior inside of one and wondered how hard it would be to say fit a saxo dash etc?

any pics, or tips as to how you did it would be welcome...

Why would you want to put another cars dash in a 205? I think the 206 and Saxo would look completely out of place in a 205.

The only thing I wish was different on the 205 was the placement of the radio as leaning down to change stuff is a pain, but I'm nit-picking! Maybe a 106 GTI dash as it would be good size wise, similar in style to the 205's and has a higher radio position?

The problem with the 106 dash is that it would be alot of effort making the dash fit, just to change one horrible plastic-y dash for another one B)

Never been a fan of dash swap mostly. Theres been a few well doen one over the years ( TT into earlier Golf etc) But generally, i think they dont suit the cars.

The phase 1.5 / 2 dash is pretty nice i think. Compare it to a similar age Golf, Nova, Escort, Astra etc.

If you wanted to do it, it would be a fair bit of work to do nicely. Id imagine cutting out surplus width and plastic welding back together. Then probably painting / covering.

Not to mention all the wiring changes, switch locations, speedo cluster etc.

Why not think about having your dash flocked, covered in a material such as alcantara or leather or just painted? That may make it look different enough for you, or is it the design/layout you don't like?

Cant you just learn to love the dash you got?

I have taken most of the dash out of one of my cars, makes it go faster!

when i originally rebuilt my 205 i started fitting a 206 dash into my 205. I got pretty far tbh but in the end the plastics would need cutting too much for it to look very good unless you flocked it all. heres a few pics

Me like!!!

Although the mats are total gash.

Matt, how close was it to fitting?

Along with engine tuning, I might make that my winter project next year.
