does not sound like a road damper number. It could be a motorsport one though if its discontinued it wont be in the 09 catalogue.

I will have a gander tomorrow.

Is it a 205 part??

Just been to check my 205 group N billies and they have 4600 2500 stamped on them and 55143

I've called Bilstein a while back & they didn't recognise 55143 but they said by the bump & rebound rates of 4600 2500 they are group N billies which is 205 tarmac or 309 gravel spec apparently.(I'm sure that's what they said)

It differs from the info on this chart though Which mentiones that rated shock as Group A?

http://www.carparts-cat.com/webkat.asp?SID...8004&ROOT=1

I found it on this thread.

Mine are the older ones with blue plastic rubber boots rather than the dust cover.

They guy I got them from said they were fitted to his car by Skip Brown & sold as Group N shocks.

I hope that helps

The newest catalogue gives different part numbers for the Group N though the additional information for the Group A lists (i think bump and rebound) 460/250

Part number for that is B46-2313 though...

Its very possible if specially valved by skip brown or bought in a kit with front dampers they would be listed with a different part.

As skip brown make up the coilover kits it would be worth calling them up.

Kev

4600N rebound force @ 1.0m/s

2500N compression force @ 1.0m/s

3% stabilisation and 25*C, gas pressure taken out of account.
