Recommended Posts

I know you can fit 306 rears but are the front shocks interchangeable?

306 GTI-6 are a popular swap at the front, so I am going to say yes.

A popular swap on 205's and something i'm looking into so i would also yes as they are very similar cars.

They fit but the antiroll bar drop link bracket is all wrong, there was a topic that discussed this not to long ago when fitting them to a 205 which will be the same as on a 309.

I have GTI6 dampers on the front of my 205. No issues with droplinks tho they are in a slightly different position.

Used 205 springs and topmounts though (not sure if these are different).

Its only with the thick OE droplinks that can foul, aftermarket thinner replacements clear the back of the hub fine, as above you'll need to use 205 topmounts and springs. I run this setup on my 205 with no issues.

309 top mounts are the same as 205 ones, though the springs are a little stiffer I believe.

they will fit just fine, though not really a good idea to fit them unless you want a sky high front end

The 306 shocks will fit but as said the top mounts are different to the 205/309 ones so you will need to change them. Springs are the same diameter so 205/309 springs can be put onto 306 shocks to give a standard ride height.
