Strange Tyre Pressure Behaviour

Recommended Posts

HAving moved a load of my crap back from uni, I pumped my T1-S' up to 36psi front and rear to cope with the extra weight (a lot). Having forgotten to reduce the pressures on a spirited drive, I found the car to be FAR less understeery than ever before. Not just a little bit less, but significantly grippier up front. At those sort of pressures (same pressure gauge) my 306 used to understeer and skip around like mad if it was empty, so I'm left thinking that this is a bit unusual considering the 205 is lighter. Does/did anyone else use weird pressure like these with these tyres?

T1Ss are known to have quite a soft sidewall. It could be that the higher pressures are holding the tyre in shape better and the tyre isn't folding under hard cornering?
