Correct Seats For A Phase 1, 1987 In Black. (1.6)

Tiptoeing carefully as I type and dearly hoping this is in the correct place, can anybody tell me which seats my phase 1, 1.6 in black should have, at present it has red and black check rear seat and black with red pinstripe front seats, have searched google but been unable to find which it should have, thanks in advance for any help, Angela.

Anyway to answer your question, im pretty sure the whole interior (seats) should be grey with red pin stripe IIRC.. also some info here:

i think the red and black ones are phase 2 seats and the greyish black (i think they are) are phase 1 i have a full set of phase 1 half leathers! but in the 1.6's they where fully cloth

They are called 'Biarritz' and are black cloth and the checked bits are a bit orangey - I will try and find a photo if I have one. Try googling it may bring something up.

 

The ones you are describing sound like phase 2 checked cloth seats.

Good luck - I managed to find a full set of GTI ones for my CTI for £6.56 locally on Ebay but need a passenger seat to use as a drivers as this is ripped. The rears are mint too - got them purely by chance. If you do see a set buy them, quickly!

No, They are Phase 1.5 seats, Horrid tweed things

As per the link above, the Phase 1 cloth seats should look like this:

 

 

The seats in the eBay advert are Phase 1.5 as Miles said.

 

Don't confused the Phase 1 seats with the vaguely similar looking 205 XS seats:

You'll be lucky to find any, they suffered from wear in no time at all on the side bolsters much like the phase 2 ones, the only ones that seem never to wear are those twead looking things

So I'm guessing mine is a Ph1.5. It's a '88 1.6 with these seats

Yes. The changeover from Phase 1 to 1.5 was late 1987, so most (if not all) 1988 cars should be Phase 1.5

I have 2 sets of tweed Ph 1.5 seats.

 

Bloody awful things (to look at) but they are very hard wearing.
