Block...is This Knackered

Recommended Posts

Started preparing by block for the rebuild, when I removed liner 4 this is what I found.

I think it is new block time, but just wanted to check opinion of the experienced amongst you.

This is what I found

so decided to clean it up a bit to see if it was perforated.

It has not eaten all the way through, but can not have much left to go until it is through, Also note to the right the liner landing is mostly corroded away.

So what do you think??

Will keep an eye on Ebay & place a wanted add here, is there anywhere else I should try.

I also noted on the head, when I took the cam off there was a hole formed by wear (unless it was meant to be there) just behind the oil seal, is this normal.

yes its actually an oil drain hole, its so oil leaking through the end bearing doesnt build up and push the seal out.

Feel for you there paul.

Just found out all of my liners are knackered. So I know that disheartened feeling when something doesn't go to plan!

Keep at it mate!
