309 Wishbones And Beams Or 306 Gti-6?

Recommended Posts

Fearon

Just brought another 205 GTi, after not owning one for 12 years!

The idea is to strip, rebuild and keep. Never to be sold!... The last 205 i fettled with was over 12 years ago, which we put from memory, 309 wish bones and rear beam 306 GTi6 brakes upfront, wtih a mi16 lump on bodies...

I guess time has changed, so im thinking,

306 GTi6 engine, and brakes... Can you put a 306 GTi6 rear beam on the 205's or not?

Many Thanks

P.S

any oldies on here??

you can use the trailing arms complete, but not the beam.

I remember your username from back in the day. Welcome back! There are many combinations that you can use for the back axle, have a quick search, depends on what your going to be using the car for and personal preference. 205/306/zx/xsara arms, torsion and antiroll bars? 205/309 tube etc.

You can swap 306 gti6 trailing arms onto 205/309 tubes for a bit of camber and extra width but you can't use the 306 tube as it mounts differently unless you want more work than it's worth

Probably an idea to look at what Pug1off can do with them, then copy accordingly.

Keep 205 beam, Up front any engine is fine, As goes with brakes.

Going wider at the back kills what the 205 is famous for
