Recommended Posts

idoari

Hi,

i have the haynes manual but i can't find anywhere the proper spec for the following clearances to use plastigauge on:

*cam to cap clearence (the cap that clamp the cam to the head)

*crank to main journel clearence (the ones clamping the crank to the block)

*crank to connecting rod clearence

can anyone tell me what it's needs to be?

*all the clearances are with the "half moon" bearing installed in the caps.

thanks

they are in the haynes workshop manual. At the beginning of the chapter for your engine! It gives all the tolerances you need, don't think there's one for the cam bearings as they're not replaceable.

Mains is in mine (page 2D-3), but you need to read carefully to work out the rods.

0.002"-0.0025" is what I use on the rods. Cam is less critical.

It doesn't have page numbers. It's a PDF I found somewhere. Chapter 2, page 3, I guess. I think the 405 manual has a lot more detail if you can find one.

p61/233
