Does anyone have a list of items that would make the engine managent light come on on a 1.9 gti L reg with cat .

Much easier to read the code, either by a Diag machine or you can read it by the EML flashing which I think you may find a how to guide on here

Not many things really. Erroneous reading from air flow meter, lambda sensor, purge valve, temperature sensor or crank sensor, I think that's it. But you're guessing until you have read the fault code, which will pin it down. Like Miles says you need a code reader (TAD99 or TAD4-99 - it predates the OBD standard so those readers don't work) though there is a method of getting the dash light to flash the codes out.

Thanks guys . I think I need some help I'm chasing shadows without the right kit . I swapping things around and not really seeing any change .

FOUND IT FOUND IT FOUND IT

 

I had a broken wire to the ECU from the airflow regulator . What a Ba****d . Also had a naf temperature sender in the SAD unit .

 

Goodness what happened to good old twin 40s . Ha all good now gents thanks for your help .
