Its late and I am probably missing the obvious, but is there any difference between those two? and has anyone ever heard of an XU9JA/K? I haven't I don't think!

I've not heard of the XU9JA/K either and couldn't see it in the engine list in my Haynes manual(mine only goes up to 1991) but it could be the 105bhp 1905 engine that was fitted to the CTi or simply the later spec 1905 fitted just before the cat was standard fitment or just when the coil was moved to the inlet manifold.

 

I've had a look on 205gti.com and it isn't listed there either.

as you say pugtorque, its the same as the xu9ja but has lambda control, and was brought in just before the cat was.

thats very interesting then... I guess it wasn't sold in the UK?

 

A quick google reveals that jetronic management with a lamda probe is microprocessor based unlike the normal non-microprocessor jetronic system that we are all used to...
