Disassembling Hydraulic Lifters

Recommended Posts

SweetBadger

Thought I'd share this with everyone as my hand is still bruised from whacking my MI hydraulic lifters repeatedly on a block of wood to get the pistons out...

After about 10 mins on the 2nd lifter I figured there must be a better way and so - Behold my home made lifter basher

All you need is 2 zip ties and a couple of the MI sparkplug hole seals - zippy clip the seals to a suitable piece of wood, insert lifter and smack the s*ite out of it without injuring you hand!

Soak them in degreaser for a day or two and they come apart with just a couple of taps.
